2023年11月4日、Blizzard Entertainmentの大型ファンイベント“BlizzCon 2023”オープニングセレモニーが配信。その中で『World of Warcraft』の新たなストーリーラインに関する発表が行われた。

　ステージにはエグゼクティブクリエイティブディレクターのクリス・メッツェン氏が登壇。2024年からスタートする新ストーリーは“Worldsoul Saga”と呼ばれ、3つの拡張パックにまたがって展開するという。それぞれの名称は“The War Within”、“Midnight”、“The Last Titan”。

　10番目の拡張パックにあたる“The War Within”については、壮大なシネマティックトレーラーと概要を紹介する動画が公開されている。
