内外のRPGを中心に全13曲を収録
Josh Barron & ETHEReal String Orchestraによるゲーム音楽のカバーアルバム「The ETHEReal String Project」がiTunes等で配信開始。全13曲を収録しており、価格は単曲購入の場合が各200円で、アルバムごと購入の場合は1500円。
本作は、ファイナルファンタジーシリーズや『ザ エルダースクロールズ V: スカイリム』、『マスエフェクト3』といった内外のRPG大作を中心に、『メタルギア ソリッド2』、『Halo 2』、『ミラーズエッジ』といったアクションゲームも加えた名作ゲームの楽曲群を弦楽とピアノでカバーしたトリビュートアルバム（12曲目「The Forest of Awakening」のみオリジナル曲）。いずれも正式にライセンス許可を得たものとなっており、YouTubeで合計7分以上のサンプルが試聴可能だ。
「The ETHEReal String Project」収録曲のトラックリストは以下。なおプレスリリースによると、同グループの将来的なプロジェクトとして、光田康典氏がキャリアを通じて残してきた楽曲をフィーチャーしたアレンジアルバムなどを予定しているとのこと。
