●約10年ぶりに日本人選手を起用！
エレクトロニック・アーツから2011年10月20日に発売予定のプレイステーション3/プレイステーション･ポータブル/Xbox 360用ソフト日本版『FIFA12 ワールドクラス サッカー』（以下『FIFA 12』）は、日本代表でもありロシアプレミアムリーグPSK CSKA(ツェーエスカー)で活躍する本田圭佑選手と、同じく日本代表でありドイツブンデスリーガのVfLヴォルフスブルグで活躍中の長谷部誠選手の両名と、プロモーション契約を締結。本作のパッケージに登場するだけでなく、ゲーム内でも固有フェイスで登場するとのこと。
これに関してエグゼクティブ・プロデューサーの牧田和也氏は「世界中のファンに愛され、支えられているシリーズとして、世界の舞台で活躍されている本田選手、長谷部選手に参加頂けた事を大変光栄に感じています。本作『FIFA12』では、プロモーション展開だけでなく、ゲーム内でも、本田選手、長谷部選手のプレイヤーキャラクターを作り込んでおりますので、是非楽しみに待っていてください。」とコメント。ふたりの日本人選手が躍動する姿を見られる日はもうすぐだ。
